He is like a beautiful fairy-tale prince. For some reason I remembered tsarevitch Gvidon in an episode, where he shoots an arrow to save the Swan. Probably, the analogy has gone from remembering that Fingon is an archer too, well and clothes details, most likely influenced intussusceptions.
The most important thing that is evident and rises admiration – that he is unusual. I do not know, I can not remember the examples when character in a picture was so lovely, and so tremendously handsome, but it would be thus visible that he is keen, feeling, of flesh and blood, and that he is feeling now is so familiar to us, he seems to be caught at the moment of sharpest and strongest showing of emotions. It seems that artist seen it, lived it, suffered together with the character and drawn for us.
There are things that I’m simply fetishing on. First, his hair – it seems to me that this is an amazing combination of black with blue eyes and light clothes. Он похож на прекрасного сказочного принца. Почему-то сразу мне вспомнился царевич Гвидон в эпизоде, где он метко пускает стрелу из лука, чтобы спасти Лебедь. Наверное, пошла аналогия, что Фингон тоже лучник, ну и детали одежды, скорее всего, повлияли на восприятие.
Что самое главное, что бросается в глаза и что восхищает – то, что он необыкновенный. Не знаю, не могу вспомнить примеры, чтобы герой на картине был и возвышен, и исключительно красив, но при этом было бы видно, что он живой, чувствующий, из плоти и крови, и то что он испытывает сейчас, нам это тоже знакомо, он как будто подловлен в момент самого острого и самого сильного проявления своих эмоций. Художник как будто это увидел, прожил и выстрадал вместе с героем и нарисовал для нас.
Есть вещи, на которые я просто фетиширую. Во-первых, волосы – мне кажется, что это изумительное сочетание черного с голубыми глазами и светлой одеждой. Из-за этого обрамления сразу замечательно выделяется лицо, взгляд все время на нем. Во вторых, шкура у него на плечах. Еще и снег вокруг и такой холодный фон. Сразу создается нужное ощущение этого героя. Холод снаружи, этот холод закаляет, но сердце и душа Фингона становятся только горячее от столкновения с реальностью. Не зря его называли Принцем Севера. Это место замечательно ему подходит. Потому что у него сильная воля и потому что он не боится трудностей.
Мне кажется, что состояние, описанное в цитате, передано идеально. Это и боль, и недоумение, и неприятие предательства друга, и в то же время, он остается сильным, он страдает, но не ломается. Это и замечательно в Фингоне! То, что он умеет остро чувствовать, но чувства не делают его слабым, чувства толкают его вперед на невероятные и прекрасные по силе благородства и дружбы поступки. Такие как прощение и спасение Маэдроса.

Фингон, как мне думается, является одним из тех персонажей "Сильмариллиона", которым можно бесконечно восхищаться: преданный друг (спас Маэдроска), бесстрашный, мужественный и благородный эльф, да и просто красавец-мужчина. Что мастерски отобразил художник в своей картине. Видна глубокая симпатия художника к этому персонажу (и даже больше, чем просто симпатия), что передается и зрителю.
